Partners

Steven E. Pribnow, CPA, JD   email
Steve began his accounting career in 1974, and joined Erickson & Brooks in 1986. He is the firm’s tax partner, and currently serves as the managing partner. He previously worked at several other public accounting firms, including one national firm, a community bank, and the Internal Revenue Service. He has served and currently serves on various community organization boards. He is a member of the usual professional organizations.
 
Steve received his B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and his J.D. from Creighton University. He works with the firm’s clients in all areas of taxation.
 

Daniel J. Wiesen, CPA   email
Dan is the firm's designated partner for the telecommunications side of the practice. His experience includes audit, income tax and consulting services associated with independent local telecommunication companies and related cable television, cellular and wireless operations. In addition, he provides audit and business and income tax services for clients in the manufacturing and auto dealership industries. He also provides individual income tax services.
 
Dan received his B.S. at Midland Lutheran College in 1980 and began his career with the firm during his senior year. He was admitted as a partner in the firm in 2001.
 
He is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has been involved in various community and nonprofit organizations, serving as a board member, officer and committee member.
 

Kent P. Speicher, CPA   email
Kent is the firm's accounting and auditing partner with extensive background in small business accounting and auditing services, governmental auditing and budgeting services, and non-profit accounting and auditing services. In addition he provides business and individual tax services to a variety of individuals and small businesses. Kent is involved in the firm's fraud investigative services, business valuation and litigation support services, and other non-traditional consulting services.
 
Professionally, Kent is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also active in various community organizations.
 
Kent received his B.S. at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1982. He joined Erickson & Brooks in 1986 and was admitted as partner in 2001.

Former Partners

Lloyd E. Brooks, CPA email
Lloyd began a career in public accounting with Erickson & Brooks in 1972, during his senior year at Midland Lutheran College. He was admitted as a partner of the firm in 1978. Lloyd has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Lloyd has served various community, civic and nonprofit organizations as a board member, officer and committee member. He received the Nebraska Society of CPAs prestigious Public Service award in 2008, which recognizes a Nebraska CPA who has devoted extraordinary service to his or her community.

Lloyd works with clients of the firm in all areas of taxation, accounting, auditing and other areas. Lloyd retired as a partner of the firm in July, 2010, but continues to work with his clients as he begins a long term transition to full retirement. He plans to continue to spend time at the office and remains available to clients and staff to provide his valuable historical perspective to his long term clients, as well as the considerable expertise he has in accounting and taxation.

Dean Erickson, CPA
Dean began his career in public accounting with Erickson & Brooks in 1959, and was admitted as a partner in 1965.

During his time with the firm, Dean served the firm’s clients in the areas of taxation, accounting, auditing and other areas. He was particularly involved with the firm’s local telephone company practice.

Dean was involved in professional organizations during his tenure with the firm and also served many community civic and charitable organizations, solidifying the firm’s commitment to the Fremont area and its local nonprofit organizations.

Dean retired from Erickson & Brooks in 1998, and continues to live and be involved in the Fremont community.

Senior Accountants

Lisa K. Braasch, CPA   email
Lisa is a native of the Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska area and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She works on audits, tax planning and preparation and a wide variety of accounting services. Lisa has developed a special expertise in the area of fiduciary and estate taxation and auditing of employee benefit plans.
 

Dale C. Jacobs, CPA   email
Dale is a native of Fremont, Nebraska and graduated from Wayne State College. Dale works with the telecommunications clients performing audit, corporate tax planning and preparation and a variety of management consulting services.
 

Mervin D. Peck, CPA   email
Merv is a native of the Coleridge, Nebraska area and graduated from Wayne State College. Merv works primarily with the telecommunications clients performing audit, corporate tax planning and preparation and a variety of management consulting services. He also works with various other clients of the firm in the manufacturing and retail services areas.
 

Mary A. Phillippe, CPA   email
Mary is a native of the Wahoo, Nebraska area and graduated from Midland Lutheran College. Mary works with a variety of the firm's clients performing audit, tax planning and preparation and a variety of management consulting services. She has developed a special expertise in the area of governmental and non-profit accounting and auditing.

Jennifer M. Critser   email
Jennifer is a native of Papillion, Nebraska and a graduate of Peru State College. She has a Master of Professional Accounting degree from Midland Lutheran College. Jennifer works on tax planning and preparation and a wide variety of accounting services. Jennifer has developed an expertise in computer software applications.

Steve is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska and currently resides in Omaha. Steve received his B.S. and his Masters of Professional Accountancy from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Steve started with the firm in 2008 and works with a variety of the firm’s clients providing audit, tax preparation and accounting services.
 

Ellen L. Cottier   email
Ellen graduated from Midland Lutheran College and started with the firm in 2005. She works on tax return preparation and a variety of accounting services. Ellen works a full time schedule during the tax season filing period and on a part time basis the remainder of the year, allowing her to spend time with her children.
 

Laura A. Anderson   email
Laura is a native of Nebraska and Fremont. She is a graduate of Midland Lutheran College. Laura started with the firm in 2007 and works with a variety of the firm's clients, providing tax preparation, computer assistance and support, and accounting services.

Ann M. Butterfield email
Annie is a native of Nebraska and resides in Fremont. She is a graduate of Midland Lutheran College, and also has a Master of Professional Accounting degree from Midland. Annie started with the firm in 2008 and works with a variety of the firm’s clients providing tax preparation, accounting and audit services.

Support Staff

Carole S. Bean   email
Carole attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and joined the firm in 1997. Carole serves as the firm computer network administrator. She also maintains the firm's client services time and billing system.
 

Marlene A. Hoffman   email
Marlene greets the clients of the firm as receptionist during the tax filing season. She joined the firm in 1996 and enjoys assisting her husband, Dean, with their farming operation after April 15 each year.
 

Julie M. Bradrick   email
Julie started with the firm in October, 2006 as receptionist and administrative assistant. She will assist the partners and staff with the processing of individual income tax returns during the tax filing season.
